Runhua Tan PhD (Graduated from Zhejiang University), Professor of Hebei University of Technology. Prof. Tan is the Vice President of Hebei University of Technology, the Director of National Engineering Research Center for Technological Innovation Method and Tool and the committee member of CPPCC. He serves as Vice President of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Computer Aided Innovation Organization (WG5.4), Executive Member of Innovation Method Society, President of Technology Innovation Professional Committee, Deputy Director of National Innovation Methods Standardization Committee, Director of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Executive Director of Mechanical Design Branch, President of TRIZ Research Association, Vice President of Tianjin Institute of Mechanical Engineering, and President of Hebei CAD Research Society.
He has won "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" National Science and Technology Program Executive Excellent Team Award once, Hebei Science and Technology Progress Award First Prize once, second prize once, third prize twice, Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award Third Prize once and the Natural Sciences Third Prize once. He has also won the 2012 and 2013 China Industry-university-institute Cooperation Innovation Achievement Award. In 2016, The Altshuller Institute for TRIZ Studies has awarded Prof.Tan the recipient of the Altshuller Medal for 2016.Only three people in the world have won this honor, he is the only winner in China.
Besides, he has published 9 books about Innovation Methods, among which one was funded by the National Science and Technology Press. He has also published more than 350 papers and trained many postgraduates of doctors and masters.
His research directions are technical innovation methods, innovative designs, and technological innovation management. The team led by him has long studied on the TRIZ theory and its application, process innovation, innovative design theory and methods, breakthrough innovations, disruptive innovations, patent avoidance, failure prediction and other aspects, and has formed knowledge systems which can apply in corporations.
